Eyewitnesses

Isn’t it true that if certain people tell you something that seems unbelievable you question the validity of what they have told you. You may believe them if they are very trustworthy but you might still check it out. But if there were many who were eyewitness to the event then we are likely to believe it. It’s hard to go against the testimony of many witnesses. So in the matter of Jesus, and whether he was actually here as a human, and did he really die on the cross, and did he come back to life again, many have trouble believing all of it. They might believe some of it. Paul, in his letter to Corinth, addressed this issue. In 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 he tells us that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and after 3 days was raised to life. All “according to the scriptures”. All of it was foretold to happen in the Old Testament and it all happened just as it said. Then Christ, after he was raised from the dead, appeared to Peter, then to the twelve disciples, then to over 500 others. 500!!! Then he appeared to James and finally Paul. Folks, Jesus is real. He is God, and he came here in a human body. He died and was buried and rose again. There are eyewitnesses who saw him, and touched him and heard him and even watched him go up into heaven!! How then can we deny him? He will return. Are you ready? Oh God, thank you for those who wrote down for us in this generation, the events of the life of our Savior Jesus who is Christ our Lord!!
