Good enough

My Dad had this thing he did when we worked together. When the job was finished, he would walk around and check everything to make sure there were no details left to finish. After checking, if it met with his approval, he would say “ good enough”. We knew when we heard that it was time to move on to the next job. So when in life can we say “ good enough”? Can we ever be good enough? Can we live a perfect life according to Gods law and earn our way to heaven? No. That’s the answer. No we cannot. I think we forget sometimes that it’s only by Gods grace in Christ that we can make it to heaven. Even Peter, who walked with Jesus himself, made this mistake. He pulled away from the gentiles who had not been circumcised leading others to do the same. Paul called him out on this reminding him that the law could not save but only Gods grace. In Galatians 2:21 he says: I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing.
Not one person can get into heaven without being righteous and not one person has the ability to be righteous. Only Jesus could do that. He died in our place so that his righteousness could be placed on us. So then, it is by his righteousness that we can enter heaven and when our Heavenly Father inspects us he will say” good enough”! Dear Jesus, we thank you for what you have done for us. How we long to hear you say, well done!!
Have a great day!
