When I was a young boy i remember that it was very seldom that you ever watched tv and heard a cuss word. The men around where I grew up seldom cussed in front of women or children. Shows on tv were “ clean” for the most part and if they weren’t then they were on late after kids were in bed. Sin was done in secret so to speak. Why? It’s certainly not that way now is it. Paul gave the Ephesians a warning. In Ephesians 5:12 he’s says: it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. Allowing sinful behavior to be done in front of us and our children numbs our conscience towards it and it becomes more and more exceptable. Paul says not to even talk about it. If we do, soon we are making light of it and maybe even doing some of those things. Sin is destructive to us and families and brings no good thing into our lives. It’s not to be taken lightly. Don’t get me wrong, I’m as guilty as anyone of not paying close enough attention to it but we all should. It’s dangerous!! What we watch and see around us cannot be unseen. I remember one of the lines in my Moms Sunday school songs was: be careful little eyes what you see. For the Father up above, is looking down with love, so be careful little eyes what you see. It’s still true. Be careful what you see, hear and say. Father, sin is all around us today. It’s more visible than ever in our lives today. Help us not to glorify it or give it a foothold in our lives but help us to fight against it for your glory!!
Be careful my friends!!
