Who besides me remembers being a kid and whenever something bothered you Dad or Mom were the first person you would run to? It would seem like a problem that was just insurmountable but as soon as I would talk to Dad I was ready to take it on! The anxiety of whatever it was would subside and confidence would take its place. Not that I had any more confidence in myself really. I think it was having support from someone much bigger than me. Remember David when he faced the giant Goliath? He was just a boy fighting a champion warrior! But his confidence wasn’t in himself. It was in who went with him! God was with him. And he had been before! He had helped him fight lions and bears!! Philippians 4:6&7 tells us this: do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation but by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
It’s like running to Dad and saying you’ve got this giant to fight and he says go get him son. I’m right there with you. If you are anxious about anything, and I mean anything, and there are gonna be things come up in your life that will cause you to be anxious, take it to our Heavenly Father! Follow David’s example. God has helped you fight smaller battles. He will help you with the big ones too!! Lord, the peace that comes in our hearts after laying our burdens on you is amazing. We know that the troubles are still there. We know that we still have to face them. But knowing you are with us gives us confidence and strength and for this today we praise you!!
What giant are you facing today? Don’t do it alone! Call out to Jesus!!
