The good King!

I want you to use your imagination today. Imagine you are living in a kingdom. This kingdom has a harsh king. He is a ruthless ruler who keeps you in slavery demanding that you do terrible things and he blames you and accuses you of these things to another king. The only escape from this dark nation is death. One day, another king visits you in your dark kingdom and promises you will be rescued if only you will trust him to. But first he must go a make ready a place for all who will come. Suddenly being in this dark nation is more bearable. Why? Hope! You now belong to a new nation. A nation with a king who loves you. Who is kind and forgiving. He doesn’t accuse you nor does he ever ask you to do wrong. Can you imagine it? This is us!! We were born into this dark world. But there is another world being prepared for those who trust in the king. Jesus is that king. Colossians 1:13-14 says: for he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. This story is our story. We don’t need to imagine it. We are living it!! If your life is dark and miserable there is another way other than death to escape. Jesus is that way. If you trust him he will take you into his kingdom!! Having that hope makes this life worth living!! Thank you Jesus for coming here. For the promise of your return in which we find our hope.
