Fear no more

One of the questions that plagues mankind is what happens to us when we die. For some it’s a sense of wonder. For others it’s pure fear. Why fear? I’m no expert and won’t claim to be but I have a couple thoughts. Fear is a human emotion that didn’t exist until sin came into the picture. Sin directly opposes God who in his very nature is perfect. God is also the authority over all things because he created them so that means he has authority over us. So the moment sin entered into mankind we became directly opposed to God. And then came fear. Why? Because with sin comes death. And death was punishment. But Christ came to give us a way not to fear death. If we trust and believe and live for him then death is only physical and temporary. 1Thessalonians 4:16 tells us: For the Lord himself will come down from heaven , with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Verse 17 says then those who are alive in Christ will be brought up to meet them in the air and so we will be with the Lord forever!!
Faith by itself is worthless but faith in Christ conquers fear. Even fear of death. For those who don’t know Christ ,death is to be feared ,but for those who do know him death is just a moment. Temporary. Nothing to fear!! Jesus made it possible to be right with his Father again through his shed blood and the forgiveness of sin. Do you live in fear of death? Have you trusted in Christ to forgive you and save you? Father, thank you for your plan of redemption for us through your son Jesus. Thank you that we no longer have to fear!!
