Fight on

Have you ever taken a hard, deep look at your life and gotten discouraged by how far you haven’t progressed? I know I have. There are things I wanted to do in life that just didn’t work out for different reasons. When my new life in Christ began I was super excited and ready to dive in and learn and fight that ugly sin out of my life. It was great! There are many things that I didn’t like about myself and they were gettin fixed! Well my timing and God’s are not the same just like my ways are not his ways. The road we travel as believers is not a road for the faint of heart! It’s a road for warriors. I had no idea the battles ahead and soon found myself discouraged. It’s been many years now and from time to time I look back and do a check to see if there has been progress. Some days I would tell you there hasn’t been much and other days I would say look how far God has brought me. The thing that is most important is who is leading you. Philippians 1:6 says: being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.
There are times on this road we travel that it will seem like we’ve taken one step forward and five steps back. We may not fully see the progress or impact we’ve made on others lives. We may feel sinful some days. We may be sinful some days! But God has not left us on this road to fight alone. He gave us his word, prayer, and each other to face these times when the enemy sets up an ambush against us! Listen, all soldiers get tired. It’s okay. Our leader is going to see us through this life and one day the battle will be over and victory will be ours because we have God almighty as our leader and he will never leave us nor forsake us!! Keep fighting the good fight my friends!! Lord, sometimes it seems like the sin in our lives is too strong an enemy to face but thanks to you we are fully forgiven and victory is ours in Christ!!
