Mind control

Every morning I wake up with every intention of being fully obedient to Christ my Savior, and every day I fail. Some days I do much better than others. I know it’s impossible to go a day without sinning but what bothers me about me is when I’ve worked to overcome a specific sin and then something happens or maybe nothing happens and I’m right back doing it again. One of these is my language. Just being honest here for a moment. In a crowd of people who don’t believe ,there are days that you wouldn’t be able to tell that I do. This is to my shame. God gave us his word to help us fight these kinds of things if only we wouldn’t be stubborn and use it. All sin can be fought against and that battlefield is in our minds and hearts. Paul gives one of the best pieces of advice in 2 Corinthians 10:5. He says to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. Look, if we read the Bible, then we know what thoughts we should be allowing and the ones we need to press out of our minds. If we really love our Savior then this is one way to show it. Take our thoughts captive. It is hard no doubt. Yes we will fail. Our days are busy and thousands of thoughts go through in a day. Isn’t it worth it though? To battle through these thoughts and fight the good fight with the hope of one day to hear Jesus say “ well done my good and faithful servant!” Lord, give us your strength and constant reminders to take captive every thought and make it obedient to you!!
Have a great day my friends!
Fight the good fight!
