I’ve come to realize that I cannot change anything by watching the news and then complaining about what I see. In fact, I’m not sure that’s even good to do. Jesus teaches us about what we can do though. What he wants us to do. In Luke 10:27 it says: love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself. A question comes as to who is my neighbor? Our neighbor is anyone who we come into contact with. A cashier at the grocery, a nurse at the doctor, a coworker or waitress at the restaurant. It’s a big list. Imagine if we were to show the love of Christ by just being kind to these people that come and go from our lives and it influenced them to go and do the same? I believe that if the Jesus followers would do this with their whole heart then the love of Christ would filter into our mayors office, the governors office, the house, the senate and even the Oval Office!! Complaining about what we disagree with does not change one single thing. But we can change things. It starts in each one of us in our little circle of influence. It starts by loving our God, Creator, Savior and loving our “neighbors”. Then pray for our leaders. Not just a half hearted prayer but deep prayer. A prayer for them to be humble and not self serving. To serve and make wise choices. To seek their counsel from Almighty God!! Thank you Lord for reminding us in your word that we do have a way to change the world. Help us to love you and our neighbors!!
To change the world we first must have a change of heart!!
Have a blessed day!!
