Lately my attitude has been…..well, bad. Much of what I see in the world infuriates me. As I watch the events happening here in my country, that I love, I don’t like much of what I see. I’ve come to realize that I have a focus problem. I’m not seeing things clearly. You see, I’ve been looking at my world through the eyes of the world. The news and coffee shop talk and even fellow church people. But what I’ve neglected is looking at God’s word. I have a bad habit of looking more at what we humans see than I do at what God sees. Then my view gets out of focus. Joshua was about to take command of the nation of Israel following Moses. No small shoes to fill!! The land they were going to go into was sinful and an overall frightening place from their point of view, but from God’s vantage point it was a great place for his people to go. In Joshua 1:8 he tells his servant Joshua a little secret that would keep him from losing focus as he led them into the new land. He said”keep these books of the law always on your lips:meditate on them day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in them. Then you will be prosperous and successful. He told him to be strong and courageous. He said not to be afraid because he would be with them. It’s still good for us today. The Bible was this amazing gift to us from a God who doesn’t leave us or forsake us!! The world may seem scary but when we view it through God’s eyes we can face this world with courage! Thank you Lord for your word that brings our world into focus from your point of view! The only true point of view!!
Be blessed today my friends!
