We are continually being told these days that we must bend our minds to accept whatever culture shifts to in its acceptance. If all kinds of detestable behaviors become acceptable by culture then we too are to accept it. So if we believe that Jesus is God and that he came to save us from our sins and we have committed our lives to follow him and we look to his word, the Bible, as the source of his authority and truth, then how can we accept all that we see as good? Let me be clear here. We are to love all people. It’s the behavior that is not acceptable. Romans 12:2 says: Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his pleasing and perfect will.
It says to be transformed. That would mean that we once thought like the world thinks. But now, following the perfect example of Christ, we must renew our minds and think as he thinks. We must love as he loved but remember, he loved people but he hated sin. So as believers, are we to bend to the culture? If we do, then how can we call ourselves followers of Christ? Just a thought. Lord, teach us your perfect way. Guide us through these troubled times and give us the wisdom we need to make good choices!
Have a beautiful day! Fall is here!!
