I used to think that believers in the United States didn’t suffer. I thought we had it easy especially compared to those believers who are persecuted for their faith in Christ. In a way that is true. We may not fear for our physical lives like they do but there is another type of trouble that we do face here. Because we have, we don’t rely on God for everything. Because we have, we don’t rely on each other. Then we become so independent that even when we get stuck in our own sin we try and overcome it all by ourselves. I’m so guilty of this! It’s not how God intended for us to live. James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective.
When was the last time you were struggling with something, maybe a personal sin or health or financial problems, and you called up a fellow believer and just poured out your heart to them and asked them to pray for you? To my shame I can count on one hand how many times I’ve done it. But when we do and then actually pray for each other the Lord does not sit idle!! Listen, we need each other! We need the Lord! He is our friend! I had a friend call me one time. He was suffering over an issue. In his mind he saw himself as a failure. But when he called me I saw great faith on his part! It’s not easy for us to call for help!! But we should! We must encourage one another and earnestly pray for each other, especially in these last days! Thank you Lord for my friend who reminded me that it’s good to call for help and prayer. That faith in you is how we win our battles and relying on each other!
Much love in Christ to each of you today!!
