Not my life but his

There was a man who saved another mans life. Afterward this man who had been rescued from death followed his savior around everywhere he went. He would help him with his work. If he got injured he would care for him. He fixed him food. For years he never left the mans side. One day the man who had saved him asked why he followed him. He replied “you saved my life so now it is yours and not mine”. Even though I got this story from a fictional movie it tells a great truth that we who have been rescued from sin should never forget. In Romans6:13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
Just like the man in the movie, our life belongs to God, who through his own sons death he rescued us giving us eternal life!! Thank you Lord for saving us even though we don’t deserve it. Help us to remember daily just how much that means for us!!
