Long live the king! These words were often yelled out in ancient times whenever the king came to town. Especially if it was a good king. He had the people’s loyalty and they would live under his protection. They would do nothing to undermine the image of their king. In fact they would fight to protect it!
Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords. There is none greater than him. Now if you have believed in him and been saved then you are part of his kingdom. So we have a responsibility to the King to lift up his name. To live our lives, even in our innermost self, in loyalty to him because we live under his protection. And we have a dangerous enemy, satan, who is always looking to attack! Every moment of our day should be a moment of thankfulness to our great King. 1 Peter 2:9 says: But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, Gods special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of the darkness and into his wonderful light!
We are to declare his praises. This means we should live our lives that others can see the goodness of our King. Jesus!! Long live the King!! Help us Lord to live our lives worthy of your calling!!
Corrie Ten Boom, a Holocaust survivor once prayed, “Lord you died for me; what can I do for you?” We should pray this together today.
Have a great day
