Is it just me or does everyone need a little alone time? Time to just be by yourself without all the noise. Don’t get me wrong. I love people, but they can be a lot. I can too. Just ask my wife!! If you get that time what do you do with it? With the demands that life continually places on us, we all need to retreat to a quiet place and just be. Jesus, even though he is God, did the same. What did he do with his time when he got alone? Luke 5:16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Jesus was healing people and casting out demons and preaching and when he was completely spent he needed to be alone. But he wasn’t alone. He sought the company of his Heavenly Father. He prayed. Praying is sometimes just being with our Heavenly Father. Fellowship time. Only with him we can be who we are and it’s okay. No special face. Just us. We can say anything to him. It won’t shock him. Just being alone with him for a few minutes is more restful than a nights sleep. For believers, life is a battle. And warriors get tired. They need rest. We all do. Have you taken time to go hide and just be with your Savior? Dear Father, help us to follow the example of Jesus and go to lonely places and pray!!
