Sins weight

So I have a question. How seriously do you take your sin? I know, it’s like WOW he started off positive today!! But really. Have you considered the impact it has on your heart, mind and even your physical health? Have you considered how it affects your family and friends? Well, it’s sad for me to say this but at times, in fact often, I don’t take my sin near as serious as I should. I remember when I got divorced. It wasn’t long after when I realized the trama that my sin had caused in so many peoples lives that I love so much!! It was a weight too heavy to bear. Jesus was my only hope. In Luke 7:36-50 A sinful woman came to Jesus as he was eating as a guest in someone’s house. She cried and used her tears to wash his feet. She used her hair to dry them and then poured expensive perfume on them. She never stopped kissing his feet as she sat there. Her sin had become much too heavy to bear!! But she went to him. Can you see how much sorrow she had over her sin? How humble she was and how much love she expressed to the one who could save her? Jesus told his host about two men who owed a man money, one owed only a little bit the other owed a lot. The man forgave both mens debt. He asked him which one would love him more? He answered the one who owed him much!!
All of us have sinned. Some, like me, have sinned much! But the real question here is how do you see your sin? Is it no big deal? Or is it too heavy too carry? Either way, Jesus is the one we have sinned against and he is ready to forgive. How do I know that? Because he has forgiven me. Just like he forgave her. Listen to what he says to her: vs 48 & 50 Jesus said to her, “your sins are forgiven. Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.” Did you hear that!! We can all have this if only we trust and believe. Believe we are sinners in need of forgiveness and that Jesus is the one who can forgive and save us!! Dear Jesus, today I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being our God who forgives and saves!!
