Have you ever had this voice in your head that says to do something or maybe not to do something? And then have you done just the opposite of what that voice said? And then another voice says hey You just did what I said not to. Why is the second voice so much louder than the first one? They are the same voice. God gives us warnings when we are about to do something wrong and he urges us to do what is right. He also reminds us when we have done wrong. Peter is a good example of how God works in us today. In Luke 22:54-62 Jesus tells Peter that he would deny knowing him three times. Peter didn’t think he would. In his mind he would follow Jesus to death. But when Jesus was arrested and Peter followed behind , some recognized him and when they asked about it, Peter denied knowing him. In the moment, I’m not sure Peter even realized what he had done. In verse 61 though it says that the Lord turned and looked straight at Peter and then he remembered that the Lord had told him what he would do. He was then aware of his sin. Peter had Jesus with him physically. We do not. But we have the Holy Spirit. He works the same way. In our inner self he speaks to us. And in that place he looks at us. And then we are aware. And yes sometimes we weep bitterly just like Peter did! But just like Peter, we are forgiven! Jesus didn’t just look at him to make him feel bad. He did it so that Peter would learn from it and mature into the incredible man that Jesus knew he could be. And he did. And that is just what Jesus wants from you and me. He loves us just like he did Peter. So when you hear that voice, take heart !! For the Lord is with you!! Thank you Jesus for looking into our hearts and showing us what you see and for helping us to grow and mature into who you want us to be!!
Be joyful today! God is with you!!
