True power

I know I’ve talked about this before, but I believe it’s worth a second look. So often, when hard times come, or even just common concerns pop up in life, I will exhaust every effort of my own before taking it to God in prayer! I know I’m not alone in this! Why?? God loves us and our concerns in life are important to him! And he is the only one who has the true power to do anything at all about it no matter what it is! Now I know that or at least I think I do, but if I do, then why is going to him my final move? I Think sometimes we forget how powerful God is. We don’t study him enough to keep that knowledge in our hearts! This morning I ran across a verse that reminded me once again of just how powerful God is and how he uses his people to display it sometimes. Listen to this. Acts 19:11-12 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him, were taken to the sick and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them! Did you hear that??
If God can take a handkerchief, and give it healing powers just by touching a common man, then imagine what else he can do! Don’t get me wrong, Paul was a man of God. A true believer and follower of Jesus, but still a man, that is a human, just like us! So why do we think that our prayers cannot be answered? Listen friends: we have access to God our Father, who has all power and endless resources, to do all that we ask of him, as long as we are asking in his will, and in the name of Jesus! Let us not make him our last resort but instead our go to for all requests and not forgetting to take all of our praise to him and thanks as well!!
Father, I am sorry that as your servant I have failed to recognize your power. I often forget what you can do and have done! Thank you for your word and the Spirit that you have given to us that reminds us of all you are!!
