Do any of us really like to be ruled? If we are honest most of us would say no. I remember when my son was little he would get into things he wasn’t supposed to and when I would tell him no he would close his eyes and his whole body would shiver. He didn’t like to be ruled. We just don’t like it do we? However, we are all ruled by something whether we like it or not. From birth we are ruled by our natural instinct and that instinct is evil. I know! We don’t like hearing that we are evil. From the moment of Adam’s sin when he ate the fruit that God told him not to, all humans born after were born with a sin nature. It is that nature that rules us from birth. We do not have to be ruled by that nature though. Paul writes in Romans 6:11-14: In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, do not let sin rule in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
Jesus came here to give us a way to come out from under this rule of our sin nature and to live under the rule of His grace. When we give our life to Him, we are transformed from our sin nature, which is death, to a new nature that is life! The very Spirit of God comes to live in us and our life should begin to change, no longer living in our old sinful manner but rather, living as to please our Heavenly Father. Being ruled by a loving Savior is better by far than being ruled by the harsh master that leads to death! What master do you serve? Choose life my friends! Choose Jesus! Thank you Father for sending your only Son to give us life!
Have a blessed day my friends!!
