What do you claim?

Have you ever heard a little kid claim to be some impossible thing? Back when getting a spanking was still a thing, I remember a certain little boy who was testing his father’s patience and at the threat of a possible spanking he replied “ I’m a log truck. You can’t spank a log truck. Vroom vroom!” He wasn’t a log truck. As adults, sometimes we feel pressure to claim certain things. The question is, are we what we claim? 1 John 1:6-9 talks about us claiming to be in fellowship with Jesus. It’s says that if we claim to walk in the light, that is to live according to what Jesus gave us as an example of how to live, but instead we continue to walk in darkness, that is to continuing on in our old sinful way of life, then we deceive ourselves. It also says that if we claim to be without sin then we are liars. Instead we are to confess our sin to Him and He who gave His life for us, and then took it up again, is faithful, and He will forgive us!! That’s exciting! If we claim to be Christ followers then we should walk in His light, giving up our old sinful way of life out of appreciation for all He has done for us!
Dear Jesus, thank you for all you have done for us. Help us to live our lives in your light, forsaking the darkness we once lived in for a better way!!

Love y’all. Have a great day!
