Have you ever seen a toddler take something and try to stick it in an electrical outlet? The danger of it instantly triggers us to yell “no no no”!! The kid just looks at you and grins like there’s no worries at all. Do you know why they have no fear of doing crazy things? It’s because they don’t know, and how could they until they have been taught? To them it looks like a good idea! Inside all of us there’s a built in knowledge of basic right and wrong but until we have heard about Jesus and how He desires for us to live, how can we expect anyone to just know? That’s like expecting a toddler to just know that outlets are dangerous. Ephesians 4:20-24 reminds us of how we have learned about Christ and how he lived. We have learned from the word of truth(the Bible) about our old way of life and also the new. Now that we know, we are responsible to live according to how we have been taught. In other words, there should be a constant growing and maturing in the faith according to the measure of learning and studying we do. Also, we cannot expect those who have not heard of Jesus to live by faith because they haven’t been told. That is why it is important to live the new life we have been given and share our faith as often as we have the opportunity!!
Lord, thank you for the new life we have in you. Help us to continue in our growing process and give us the courage to share you with others!
