The do over

Have you ever just needed a do over? You know, like when you don’t get it right or you could have done better but there’s no second chance. I have for sure had that!! I say to myself: Man, if I could just do that again I could get it right. A do over! Well, I don’t know how many of you feel that way about your whole life, but at one time I did. Oh how I had things screwed up!! The good news is, there is a way at a second chance at life. 1Peter 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never parish, spoil or fade.
By trusting in Jesus and His death and resurrection we have a new birth. Our old life and all the sin baggage that we carried is gone and the new is here(2 Corinthians 5:17). Yes, we do still have consequences from our sin but the hope we have is that we, like Christ will be resurrected and given a new body that is unable to sin. There’s much more but that alone is enough to praise God forever and ever!! This do over is from God. It cannot fail. We are to live Godly lives but our eternal existence doesn’t depend on it. That is the work already done by Jesus. Thank you God for a do over that will last forever. One that comes from the throne room of Heaven!
