God’s garden

There’s just something about this time of year. Everything is growing and thriving. Growing up on the farm instilled in me a love to plant and see things grow. Gardening is one of my favorite things to do. Planting a seed in the ground, if you think about it, requires faith. I can’t do a single thing to make that seed sprout or grow. That is God’s business. I trust that if I plant the seed, He will make it grow. I do keep the weeds out so they don’t choke the plant as it grows and water it if needed but God takes care of the rest. It’s a miracle really. Our life is much like the seed planted in the garden. God alone gives us life. Our only part in it is to keep the weeds (sin) out and water (study God’s word) it. Like all plants though winter does come and life drains away from the plant and it withers back into the ground it came from. The good news about us though, is that even though our body dies, our soul can go on. Jesus made it possible to have eternal life by taking our sin, those pesky weeds that choke the life out of us, on himself at the cross. If we put our trust in Him we will have eternal life. We bear fruit when we share this good news to others. We are like God’s garden when you think about it!
Thank you Lord for my life. However long I’m here on earth help me to be a plant that gives fruit. Help all my brothers and sisters to do the same!!
Love y’all
