What I look forward to in Heaven more than anything else, other than seeing Jesus, is not dealing with sin. I am a believer and follower of Christ unapologetically, but there are days that if you were with me you wouldn’t be able to tell. Some believe that after we trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord of our life, sin is no longer an issue. While it’s true that we are forgiven, it is also true that as long as we are here on planet earth we will battle sin in our lives. God has given us tools to fight and defend ourselves against it and they are listed in Ephesians 6, but there are also other things He has given to us in His word besides that. One of them is to confess them. Get it out in the open. Most of us are reluctantly willing to confess our sin to God in our private prayers to Him and that’s good, but what about confessing to someone here? In James 5:16 it’s says: Therefore, confess you’re sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
This is hard to do. It gets to our pride when we talk about our private sins to another person. If we are willing to find another believer that we trust, and confide in that person about our sin, and they commit to praying for us about that specifically, then we can win over that sin. Listen, we need God for sure, but we also need each other! Lord, thank you for the other believers that are in my life that pray for me and that I too can pray for. Help us to swallow our pride and help each other in the battle against sin!
Love y’all
