I have a question. Have any of you ever had a goal, and at the beginning you were so excited and ready to get started and then about a third of the way the excitement began to dwindle and then a little bit farther you started having a conversation with yourself about how this goal was a bit crazy anyway and why am I doing this? Then you just kinda left it where it was. Unfinished. No? Just me then? Okay, we’ll if anyone out there has experienced this then I know your frustration. We like to set goals. Public gyms make their most money in the first quarter (many of them) because we start the year really excited about getting into shape but the new wears off and after while….well you know. The problem is the I factor. I’m going to do this or I’m going to do that. I I I me me me. What if we do have a goal, and goals are good by the way, but instead of diving in on our own and working ourselves into a frenzy, we commit our goals to the Lord first? Let’s be honest. On our own, we get so focused on the plan and ourselves that soon we get stuck. However, if we start off making God the leader of the plan, the center of the plan, and then we commit to it, and then when the hard part comes we stay focused on God and not ourselves how much better do you think the outcome would be? Proverbs 16:3 says: Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans. WOW can you imagine? Jesus came here to earth with a goal. That goal was to give his life for us. What if a third of the way in he got bored and just went back to heaven? We would have been doomed. Instead, he stayed committed. He prayed to God the Father right at the end and God gave him the strength to follow through. And he did!! So why wouldn’t we want Jesus leading us in whatever we do? Dear Father, help us to stop trying to do it all on our own down here. Help us to commit to you whatever we do!
Let’s pray for each other today!!
