Take heart!!

I was an angry young fella when I was a youngster. I acted out a lot. You know how parents have that one kid that challenges them in every way? That was me. It took years for me to figure out what I was so angry about. Turns out that I had a good reason to be angry. I was born with a condition. It was a condition I inherited but didn’t ask for. I was born a sinner! Adam, the first man, sinned and from then on we all are born with that condition. It a pesky problem that follows us wherever we go. God in his kindness gave us a way to be free from this condition. Jesus. He paid the price to save us by giving his own body and shedding his own blood and now we can be free from that pesky problem of sin. No more need to be angry. In fact, we have every reason to celebrate if in fact we have taken the gift of salvation offered by Christ. 1Peter:2:9 explains it well: But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood,a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light!!
Doesn’t that sound good? Does it get any better than to be considered God’s special possession? To be chosen by the most powerful being that exists? It does actually. In our future, all things will be made right. We will have new bodies free from sin and a new earth that isn’t messed up by us! We will live with God himself! Why would we go around with a frown on our faces knowing that one day soon all this garbage that we deal with here will be over? Cheer up!! Jesus said: In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world! Take heart my friends!! The end is near! Only the best is yet to come!!
Thank you Jesus for giving us hope for a future beyond our wildest dreams!!
