I just watched a news story this morning about a Mom rescuing her daughter from a raccoon. This rascal got ahold of the little girls leg and latched on which caused the girl to scream in fear which triggered Mom’s protective instinct! Mom runs out the door and grabs this fairly large and quite angry wild animal by the back of its neck and frees the young girl. Now that same hero Mom who rescued her little girl with lightning response time, is the same Mom who likely holds back an answer to her child begging for a toy at the store. Mom knows best right? She can distinguish between what is an immediate need and what’s not. To me, this is a good depiction of how God works with us. Do you ever ask God for something that you think is urgent but you wait and wait for Him to respond? Yeah me too. What seems urgent to us in the moment, might not be urgent in the eyes of one who truly knows and can see the big picture of our lives. Remember, God is eternal. He is not bound by time. Things that are going to happen to us or we think might happen to us, God already sees as though it’s already happened. It’s hard for us to grasp this because we are limited by time. We can only know what has already happened. He knows best!! This should be a great comfort to us if we believe in God as a loving, all powerful, all knowing God. He is all that and more!! God is not slow in answering your prayers! He sees the big picture of your life before it even happens and knows just what you need and cares for you so deeply, that he will provide your needs just in time!! We use the word awesome for a lot of things these days but if you think about it, God is the only true awesome!!
Lord God, I’m sorry for the tantrums I throw when I think you don’t respond to me quick enough! Teach me and my forever family to be patient in our waiting, trusting in you for what’s best!! Thank you for your unlimited knowledge and pure love that is like no other. The true awesome!!!
Keep praying and trusting my friends! He knows!!
