Be a Daniel

Living as a follower of Christ will not make you popular. Daniel was a man of God. He was taken to a foreign land as a slave but because the Lord had helped him be a man of integrity, he excelled in all he did for the kings where he lived. Now his coworkers came to hate him because of their jealousy so they plotted to have him killed. They tricked the king to issue a decree that forbid anyone to bow before any god or man other than the king or they would be thrown into a den of lions. Daniel continued to pray to the one true God. We know the story. Daniel was thrown to the lions but Hod rescued him. The king liked Daniel and changed his decree so that all of his kingdom would worship Daniel’s God.
If we courageously follow Jesus, we will likely encounter both of these types of folks. The ones who hate us and label us goodie two shoes, do gooders and Jesus freaks and they will likely cause us a great deal of frustration. Then there will be those who will respect us because they will recognize Gods work in our lives. We are to love and be respectful to both. Whatever we encounter, God will be with us. The most important thing is to live such Godly lives, that people will see him in us. Do people know you follow Christ without you telling them? I know many days I don’t, but I hope that as I grow more mature in Him that it will be noticed no matter what the outcome. I hope that for all of us who follow our Savior!!
Thank you Lord for the changes you have made and are making in all of your followers! Help others to see you living in us!!

Have a groovy day!!
