Say yes!

Have you ever felt invisible in this world? Like if you just faded out not a single person would even notice? Maybe you feel overlooked at the workplace or like you are never asked to be a part of anything at church. Maybe you feel like your spouse or kids don’t even see you. I think at some point, many of us feel like that awkward one at the dance that stands at the wall drinking punch hoping nobody will ask you to dance but inside desperately hoping they will. It’s lonely. In John chapter 4 we read about Jesus going through Samaria. Now Samaritans at that time were hated by the Jews so much so that often they would avoid even traveling through there. Not Jesus! He went through and stopped at a well where a Samaritan woman was drawling water. Coincidence? I don’t think so. As we discover in John, she had lived a rough life. She had been married many times and was living with a guy. Not the kind of person that is on the top of the social ladder in a country that is already at the bottom of the social ladder. There in that moment Jesus shows us who he loves. If she was sucking down punch standing against the wall, Jesus just picked her, the least of all the girls at the dance!! He loves those we might deem unlovable. He picks them out of the crowd. The tax collectors and sinners. The rejects and those hated by the status quo. Who do we love? Can we love those whose life might look different? Who sin differently than we do? We should!! When we follow Jesus, all the walls come down! There’s no room for hate on that road. He picked us! We need to accept and love whoever we meet following in the example of Jesus!
Are you feeling alone and rejected? Invisible? Jesus loves you! He is asking you to join him! Say yes!
Thank you for choosing a lowly sinner like me Lord and teach me to love like you love!!

Jesus loves you, this I know!!
