Don’t hesitate. Run!

Hesitation. How many things in life are missed because of hesitation? I can think of many missed opportunities in my life! What about you? In Acts 8 we learn about a man named Phillip. He was a follower of Christ. An angel told him to go to a certain road and he went. Then it tells us that the Holy Spirit told him to go to a chariot that was on that road. So Phillip ran to the chariot. He ran. There was a man in the chariot that was reading from the book of Isaiah and he sent Phillip to explain it to him. Ultimately the man believed in Jesus and was baptized and then Phillip was supernaturally taken away.
There’s a couple things about this story that I learned that I want to share with you. One is that Phillip responded immediately and even ran to the chariot! I would have said : But God, I don’t have a theology degree! How can I go to him? What if…. You know. The excuses. I’ve got a bunch of em. So the man got saved. Phillip didn’t stick around to help him grow in his faith. God took him away. So how did the man grow and learn? Look, most of us don’t have theology degrees. If we have been saved though, we have something way more powerful than a man given degree. We have just what Phillip had and the man in the chariot received. The Holy Spirit of God living inside of us. He is the one who guided the new believer in his new faith. He is the one who guided Phillip to him! He does the same for us. We have many opportunities to share the love of Jesus. Buying a cup of coffee for someone and listening to them. Praying for a neighbor or even having conversation with a stranger. We don’t need a degree. We have Gods word(the Bible) and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So when he prompts us to go to someone we should without any hesitation, run!! He is already working in the heart of the other person. It’s not for us to fix or save anyone. Our work is to love as Jesus loved. And also we are to be a witness. That just simply means to tell our story. The story of how Jesus has changed our lives by giving his! Every moment we have is a gift from God. If we hesitate then that’s a moment waisted.
Lord, help us to hear your voice and give us the strength and courage to run and not hesitate to do the work you trusted us to do. We know that if we go, you go with us!!

Love y’all and pray you will have a great day!!
