Easter

When he prayed in the garden his best friends fell asleep. He was in agony in his heart. He asked the Father, no he begged him, seeking another way. There was no other way. So the fate of all mankind was at stake. Would he be obedient? Would he finish what he started when he came here? He went back and found his companions asleep. Again! He prays again. He says to the Father: not my will but your will be done. The pain that awaited him was unbearable. Well, for us it would be. But he did it. He allowed himself to be arrested. He allowed men to give him an unfair trial. He allowed them to brutally torture him and then they hung him. On a cross. They humiliated him in ways too grotesque to even mention. He let them. He then gave up his life. They didn’t take it. He gave it. That’s not the worst of it. He allowed all the sin of every human that had or would ever exist to be placed on his record. He took the punishment. Our punishment. He said that all we had to do to be saved was to trust in him and follow him. Then he will give us life. You might say: Andy you fool! He’s dead. How can he save anyone? Well, that wasn’t the end of the story. You see, after they buried him, and sealed the tomb with a huge stone, and after he had been dead for three days, he rose. He rolled the stone away. After he folded the cloth he was wrapped in. He wasnt one to leave a mess. He is risen!! Death couldn’t keep him in the grave!
Do you feel like you are unforgivable? Do you feel unlovable? Invisible? Unwanted? Jesus did all of the things above for you. He loves you. He sees you! Complete forgiveness is waiting! The best part is that the grave won’t hold you! The same power that rose Jesus from the dead, will raise us also to eternal life!!
This is Easter. The most important day in the history of mankind! This is the day that death died!! Thank you Jesus for your love, forgiveness and most of all, thank you for coming here to rescue us from ourselves!!
