I want to talk about church for a minute. Somehow here in America we have the idea that church is where we go to get “spiritually fed”. We have this idea that Christianity is going to “church” for 90 minutes once a week and then trying not to do bad things the rest of the week. I’ve been reading the Bible for years now and that’s not what I see there. We learn from Acts 2 that church was people who followed Jesus meeting daily. They were devoted to Gods word and prayer. They were not as much concerned about what not to do but what good things they would do. And being spiritually fed? We don’t need church for that! If we really believe in Jesus then the Holy Spirit lives in us! If we study his word then we are filled with wisdom and truth! With his Spirit and his word in us, we have great power to do good. To tell others about Jesus. Church is not a feeding trough for believers. It is where believers should serve and make disciples!! Dear Lord, help us to get back to being the church you desired for us to be. May your love be among us and may we go out into the world and share your love with others!!
