I’ve found that as I get older, I attend more and more funerals2fsw. What’s the old saying? “The only two things you can count on is deaths etc and taxes.” When we are young death seems so far away but as we age it comes at us like a freight train. There’s no stopping it. It’s never convenient or I d at just the right time. Death was never meant to be. God didn’t want us to die. He still doesn’t. Death came as a result of sin. Thanks Adam for that gift. Not!! Here we are though. Death is certain. So the how do we deal with it? I’ve had my share of dealing with death. Some hard. Some really hard!! The only thing that I have that helps me deal with it is hope. Hope in what you may ask? The answer? Resurrection. Yes we all must die. It’s a fact. Jesus died. Then He rose from the dead!! With a brand new body. This one could no longer die! We too have this hope if we trust Jesus to save us, to forgive our sins, and to be our Lord! He’s coming to get us. When he does we will be raised with new bodies! 1Corinthians 15:51-52 says: Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised imperishable and we shall be changed!
Death doesn’t need to scare you. Jesus has defeated it. And he will beat it for good one day. In verse 54 it says: Death is swallowed up in victory. Oh death, where is your victory? Oh death where is your sting?
Victory over death is there for you. All you need is Jesus. Do you trust Him? Today is the day!! You too can live without fear!!
Thank you Jesus for showing us that death doesn’t have power over you! You have the final victory!!
Love ya folks!!
