A few years back I was listening to a Christian radio program where you could call in with questions. A man called in and this was what he asked: I know that in heaven we will be praising God forever and ever. I can’t help but wonder if we will tire of it. Will we get bored in heaven?
I’m not gonna lie. I’ve had that same thought! It’s no wonder. The new wears off of everything here on earth. Things here don’t last. Cars rust, houses get “outdated”, and even our relationships can get tiresome. Remember the saying: the honeymoons over? It wasn’t meant to be this way. God, when he created the earth and us, created all things perfect. Then we sinned. With sin comes a continual dissatisfaction of everything. Everything seems good at first but then the new fades and we start hoping for something else. It’s hard to imagine being so in awe of something or someone that we would never ever tire of it. God, however, has something in mind for us that we can’t imagine here. We can only dream of it. Life without sin!! Life in His presence!! God is to be awed and should always stir in us amazement and the uncontrollable desire to praise Him! For now, due to sin, we struggle to keep that awe and wonder and it comes and goes with our circumstances to our shame, but when we are with Him in eternity, and sin is no longer, the new will never fade! We will not tire of praising Him! Ever! I believe that and look forward to it and it is my hope that you will be there with me!! Dear Father, thank you for the future we have in you that was bought and paid for by Jesus! May we never tire of you and help us to live and adore you more and more!!
Love y’all and hope you have a great day!!
Thanks so much for your insights, Andy. We all seem to need constant reminders of God’s love for us and ours for Him!
